LightUp

LightUp is an AR-based system for teaching electronics by allowing kids to build little projects and “see” what the components are doing using augmented reality.The projects snap together with magnets and you can send juice through the circuit to light up LEDs and turn on buzzers. However, when you take a picture of the circuit with your phone, LightUp adds animated lines to show you what the electricity is doing.

Piper

Piper is a wooden toolbox that a child (or eager adult) constructs herself. It comes with the newly released Raspberry Pi 2 linux board, a 7 inch LCD display, a power bank, and an assortment of electronics (wires, LED’s wires, buttons). Upon assembly of the kit, the user enters an adventure map in Minecraft (which is presented on the LCD, running on the pi). To beat the adventures in Minecraft, the user needs to build physical hardware additions to the pi using the provided breadboards, wires and electronics components.
