Amon Millner directs the Extending Access to STEM Empowerment (EASE) Lab at Olin College. He develops technology and community platforms to facilitate learners becoming empowered to make and make a difference in their neighborhoods. He draws upon his experience from co-creating platforms such as the Scratch programming language (as the lead of Sensor Board development) and Modkit (as Learning Lead). Millner’s work is also informed by his involvement in starting maker spaces and programs. He built the first Fab Lab, and was key in the growth of international networks for digital learning and fabrication such as Computer Clubhouses and Fab Labs. Millner is recognized internationally as a Fulbright Specialist and Grantee. He earned a Ph.D. in Media Arts and Sciences from MIT in the Lifelong Kindergarten Research Group; an M.S. in Human-Computer Interaction from Georgia Tech; and a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California.
